The research focus of the Biomechanics Department is on the functional testing of orthopedic implants and joint kinematics. In order to guarantee reliable results in the field of tribological wear testing, the heart of the department is a hip simulator according to ISO 14242-1. Due to the close interdisciplinary cooperation at the Orthopedic University Hospital with the technical campus of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, as well as the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal, it is possible to specifically research the questions at hand with the help of the expertise of physicians, natural scientists and engineers. The research department offers numerous services for scientific cooperation or contract research.
