The Endoprosthetics Center of the Orthopaedic University Hospital Magdeburg has been established to continuously improve and monitor the quality of care for patients with endoprostheses.
Approximately 1000 endoprostheses of all large and small joints are implanted annually at the Orthopaedic University Hospital Magdeburg. Approximately 300 replacements of endoprostheses of the hip and knee joints are performed.
Patients who receive care at the Endoprosthetics Center of the Orthopaedic University Hospital Magdeburg are always cared for under the supervision of principal surgeons. These main surgeons have the greatest experience in endoprosthetics and supervise all joint replacement and revision operations of the hip and knee joint.
Together with the study center of the Orthopedic University Hospital (KSOM), all patients are evaluated with the help of clinical examination forms before and after surgery. The results will be assessed through radiological means. There will be a follow-up examination after 1 year to check the quality of the results.
